Role Information

The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office promotes British interests overseas, supporting our citizens and businesses around the globe. One of their key campaigns is Travel Aware, an ongoing initiative to make sure that Brits are well prepared for their travels, to stay safe abroad.

 

As the FCDO student representative on your campus, you will be tasked with raising awareness of the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office Travel Aware campaign. In order to achieve this you will:

  • Write and publish interesting and relevant articles/content around the Travel Aware message
  • Communicate foreign travel advice to students across various networks, societies, clubs and courses
  • Promote the messages in creative ways via your social media platforms

IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Confident, resourceful and organised
  • Have an interest in travel and global affairs
  • Have connections with student media outlets: newspaper, magazine, radio and TV
  • Have some journalistic outlet e.g. write for the student newspaper, or online publication(s)
  • Very active on social media – multiple platforms
  • Must be a full-time student
